       Nancy’s voice is a natural fit for the medium of jazz and cabaret music. She grew up listening to the sounds of Nat King Cole, Mel Torme, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, and many others, thereby establishing a great love and respect for this style of music. 

      Her numerous performances on the musical theatre stage have also armed her with the great music of Broadway, from the likes of Kern, Rogers, Weill, and Gershwin to Sondheim and Lloyd Webber. She offers fresh, smooth renditions of many of the songs that we now call “The Great American Songbook” and she is equally at home with the up-tempo as well as the ballad and torch song. She particularly loves to find great songs that were once popular but are not heard so often now and have not been redone to excess.  

       She will even occasionally dig into her reams of music books to find obscure, seldom-heard pieces, with the hope that she can introduce something new to an audience. Her sense of humor and knowledge about the music that she sings make for a very enjoyable experience. 

Nancy is at ease with a simple piano as accompaniment, or with a full, sixty-piece swing orchestra (and anything in between)! She has been guest vocalist for a number of instrumentalists/small jazz combos; she also has her own musicians she calls on to perform with.
